AMC, THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR MAGAZINE MEDIA,SLATED FOR OCT. 4-5 IN NEW YORK

New York, NY (May 25, 2011) -- AMC, the Magazine Media Conference, will be held Oct. 4-5 at the Grand Hyatt New York, it was announced today by Nina Link, President and CEO, MPA. This marks the first time that the conference will be held in conjunction with Advertising Week, which is taking place Oct. 3-7. AMC 2011 is chaired by Stephanie George, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Time Inc. She is also a member of the MPA Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Every fall, major consumer magazine publishers, editors and other senior-level executives convene for AMC, which is hosted by MPA and the American Society of Magazine Editors. The conference is especially designed to inspire publishers and editors and to provide creative solutions that harness the power of technology to help transform magazine media’s business models in print and across digital platforms. AMC 2011 will spotlight the sweeping developments in technology, advertising, the economy and politics, and how these changes impact magazine media.
The program kicks off Tuesday morning, Oct. 4, and concludes the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 5, following an industry luncheon at the Grand Hyatt New York.
Keynote speakers at AMC 2011 include: Evan Doll, co-founder, Flipboard; Tony Hsieh, CEO, Zappos; Terry Lundgren, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Macy’s; Chris Perry, Vice President, U.S. Marketing, General Motors; Marc Pritchard, Global Marketing & Brand Building Officer, Procter & Gamble; Aaron With, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Groupon; and Jim Stengel, President/CEO, The Jim Stengel Company, LLC; and former Global Marketing Officer, Procter & Gamble, who will discuss his new book Grow, which demonstrates how ideals power growth and profit at the world’s greatest companies.
